SYNOPSIS
Father Ubu has been promoted at the bank where he works, but he aspires to much more power, so he and his wife plot to assassinate the bank's director and seize control of the country's finances. But on his path to absolute power, he will encounter formidable enemies such as the mainstream media, political parties, and Vladimir Putin, who will do everything they can to spoil the party for the new King Ubu.
This adaptation of Alfred Jarry's work combines music, satire, and comedy to portray a present too bleak to face without a certain degree of irony.
What can a work that is over a hundred years old tell us about the abuses of power and the redemptive power of theater?
