BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH
Chilean composer and performer of contemporary folk music. She has released ten albums to date, two of which have won the Altazor Award.
As one of the most renowned singers in her country, Francesca has represented Chile at festivals such as the Ouro Preto Jazz Festival in Brazil, the Lisbon Jazz Festival in Portugal, the CulturAmerica Festival in Pau, France, the Americanto Festival in Mendoza, the Santa Fe Jazz Festival, the Chilejazz Festival, EXIB Portugal, and the Seventh Música de la Tierra Festival in Uruguay, among other concerts. Francesca also represented Chile at the UNESCO World Heritage Site designation ceremony for the Inca Trail and was a guest at “Traigo un Pueblo en mi voz” (I Carry a People in My Voice), a tribute to Mercedes Sosa in Santa Catalina, Jujuy, directed by Popi Spatocco.

He has shared concerts and musical projects with musicians such as Carlos “Negro” Aguirre, Antonio Restucci, Simón Schriever, Ensamble Quintessence, Pedro Aznar, Hugo Fattoruso, Juan Quintero, Aca Seca Trío, Lea Freire, Aura Trío, Stu Mindemann, Cristina Narea and Leo Minax among other artists.

Since 2018, she has taught her Popular Singing Workshop at the University of Chile for the Latin American Music Diploma program. She composes, arranges, and produces her own musical projects and for the past couple of years has actively participated in the collective of fifty-one women singers who created “Herencia Rebelde” (Rebellious Heritage), a triple album in homage to Violeta Parra on her centenary.
