SYNOPSIS
Stage costumes have traditionally been treated as a secondary element, added later incontemporary dance creations, an aesthetic note but without real significance within thechoreographic discourse. Skins and Folds comes to reverse this order. The proposal focuses on thepossibilities of transformation of bodies, of their perception, of their capacities and of theirMeanings through clothing. An investigation into the infinite bodies that become visible andThey become full of meaning when a wardrobe covers them, transforms them, and makes them unique.
Clothing, as a communicative phenomenon, as an articulated visual language, must play a central role.in the creation, not only of the narrative, but in the very vocabulary of the movement. Skins and foldspart of the costume design will influence the stagecraft and dramaturgy. And it will do so through twoperspectives: physical transformation and symbolic transformation.
