SYNOPSIS
"Maria de Medea" tells the story of a pair of actors who decide to revisit the myth of Euripides' classic tragedy. The play oscillates between the couple's real life and the creative process, drawing a parallel between the challenges they face in their personal lives and the conflicts portrayed in the tragedy.
Throughout the narrative, and as the rehearsals progress, the boundaries between reality and fiction begin to blur, and the rehearsals become an emotional battleground. This work is a profound exploration of the tensions that arise when art merges with life, blurring the lines between characters and actors, reality and representation, love and hate.
This proposal questions the status of the character Medea as a powerful and complex symbol of gender issues, transcending all centuries and continuing to provoke discussions about the role and power of women in today's society.
«Maria de Medea» plays with the hybridization between antiquity and the contemporary Medeas.
