BOHEMIA, BIRD OF THE NIGHT
Cía. Miguel Gallardo (Madrid) // APLAZADA

SYNOPSIS
Bohemia, a social and literary movement, has been relegated to the background, if not silenced altogether, in the study and interpretation of Spanish literature of the 1920s. Apart from Valle-Inclán's "Luces de Bohemia," little is known about the literary Bohemia of our country.
BOHEMIA BIRD OF THE NIGHT is a theatrical performance featuring both damned and glorious figures: La Cofradía Viva la Virgen, Madame Clot, Pedro Luis de Gálvez, Alejandro Sawa, Buscarini, Emilio Carrere, Valle Inclán, Dolores Guzmán, and others—because there were plenty of bohemian women too. It's a tribute to that entire literary tribe that worshipped freedom and dared to question everything.
Some drowned in the stream of failure without staining a single page with ink, while others cultivated art with their daily work and fought to destroy the dogmas of an unjust society.
