SYNOPSIS
Inspired by the work of José Saramago and based on his children's book "The Greatest Flower in the World," Teatro Art'Imagen presents a play for adults and children to enjoy together. This is a wonderful opportunity to pay tribute to and promote the author and his work, in keeping with Teatro Art'Imagen's mission to present the great authors and texts of world literature, transforming them into theatrical works.
"Was there a village and a child (or a girl?)."
Were there also the grandparents with whom the girl (boy?) lived, plus the neighbors?
One day the child (girl?) goes out through the back of the yard and it's time to walk, it's time to walk.
He walked, he walked, he ran, he ran, he stopped, he stopped...
Until she reached the edge of the lands where she ventured alone (alone?).
- Should I go or not?
Was!
To the discovery of oneself, to the discovery of the world.
He circled the continent many times without ever leaving his home. He saw things he'd never seen before and remembered others he'd experienced. Along the way, he encountered men and women building a convent at the king's command, a city of the blind where a dog wiped the tears of a woman lying on the ground, and a girl caught in a bullet wound that soared high into the sky. He grew from boy to boy, then to man. He remembered his childhood, the games, helping with farm work, the people and animals of the village, new discoveries, and first loves.
He went barbel fishing in the great Tagus River, listened to his grandparents' stories while sleeping under the olive tree of his childhood home, jumped and ran, wetting his feet in puddles and pools...
